FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All of our boxes come with the focus chosen by your companion, as well as a mini altar kit with potential offerings chosen by your companion. These can be charms, crystals, statues, or anything that has caught their eye during vetting. The altar kit also includes two cones of HEM incense, chosen by the spirit, as well as one tealight candle to light to welcome them in. We usually include a silver polishing cloth to help keep any silver focuses in their best shape. They can choose to adjust the items in their packages' no two packages will be the same.

If you choose to do a distance connection, please direct us to which item you would like your companion to choose as a focus, and we can help direct them to claim it. For more information on focuses, please see our post here.

What comes in the box?

What is in the portfolio?

The portfolio is a PDF file containing the information we have gathered during our time vetting our conjured spirits. The PDF is 15+ pages of information about the spirits, their connections, their listing, a focus page, associations, offerings, manifestations, information about their home life, and about their species and community.

We include anything the spirit has deemed necessary for their companion to know about them out of the gate. The spirits can choose to adjust what is included in our portfolio, just as they can with the package. This means they can add a tarot reading instead of other items, or take out anything that they do not wish to include.

Anything included in the PDF is chosen by the spirits or with the spirits in mind, thus, each PDF will be unique to that conjure.

Custom Conjures or Reverse Adoptions

Custom conjures will be opened as we have space to do them. It will be first come, first served. Custom conjures will appear in our shop when spots are open. Custom conjures are only handled through our discord, to secure your spot open a ticket on our discord and after confirmation you can purchase a slot here.

Custom conjures take a minimum of 3 months, to a maximum of 7 months, to complete vetting. During that time we will give updates as they go through the process and will use our discord ticket system to keep in contact.

These services are open for a payment plan, but the spirit will not be conjured, or the services rendered, until after the service listing is paid. Please let us know if you are called to a reverse adoption or a custom conjure.

A custom conjure is conjured from the community itself, while a reverse adoption will be pulled from the spirits already in vetting. Reverse adoptions only take 2 months to 4 months for vetting, as they have completed the first stage of vetting already.

We price based on the difficulty of vetting your potential companion. Some spirits will require more work to ascertain their safety than others. We do in depth background checks, energetic tests, as well as safety checks and this takes time and energy. Our pricing reflects that time and energy spent bringing them to you.

How do you determine pricing?

Why use your service?

You do not need to use a conjuring service to have meaningful and safe connections with spirits. The idea that any spirit that is not conjured by a service is inherently bad, malicious, or going to hurt you is harmful and incorrect. "Unbound" spirits are just as wonderful as those who have gone through a conjurer. We merely offer our experience and spend time working with the spirit on a one on one basis to gather information and vet them for safety. As to why should you work with Evening Star Spirits? The answer is because our spirits are extensively vetted and the portfolio we give you will have all the information we have gathered over our months of working with your future companion.

We just make the process easier, and we have access to exclusive species found by our conjurers.

How do you identify spirit, entity, or dead?

For our purposes, we will label any living entity as a spirit. For spirits of the dead, we will label them as ghosts, or the dead. We use the terms entity and spirit interchangeably. All of the beings we work with are living entities.

What are beginner, intermediate, and experienced?

A beginner is someone who has just begun their spirit work journey.

Someone who is intermediate will have taken some time to learn about spirit work and may have a few companions already.

Someone who is experienced will have a solid spirit base, family, and background. They are confident in their spirit work abilities and their practices, and have built a solid idea of their own opinions and theories.

What is conjuring?

Conjuring can signify the rituals involved in summoning a spirit, but for the community's purposes it also signifies working with spirits and vetting them for companionship. We conjure the spirit to our spaces, and through vetting we determine the safety and compatibility of a spirit to be a human companion.

How do you vet?

We vet extensively for as long as we feel the spirit in question needs. Our minimum vetting time is three to four months. We do not have a maximum vetting time, as we will vet for as long as it takes to be able to see the reality of the spirit we are vetting.

Some things we look for in vetting are, but are not limited to:

They are able to handle mental health issues that may arise in their human companion.
They are sensitive to time commitments and are flexible with their ability to be around their companion and are flexible with cancellations.
We pay attention to how they interact with different stimuli and other species of spirits.
We make sure they understand difficulties in hearing, communication, helping their companion and much more that goes along with this path. Just the overall humanity and what comes with working with a human.
They understand lulls.
That they understand we are not of their culture and that they will work within our frame of reference as much as they can.
We vet to make sure they will not feed off their companion without explicit consent.
And just for the general safety of the human companion and their family.

You sell spirits?

We do not sell spirits. The reason we call everything services and our purchasable listings are called service listings is because we sell our vetting, conjuring, and matching services.

We do all the hard work of meeting the spirits, getting to know their culture and the spirit themselves, and writing up all of our findings for our clients. We also help introduce the spirits to humanity and the difficulties that come with working with humans. They enter our vetting to learn, be vetted, and to give their companions a head start in working with them. We vet the spirit and their culture for human compatibility as well as human safety. This is what we sell. We do not sell spirits.

The spirits understand that when entering into our vetting, they will find their match, but that we also charge for the services we render.

The spirits' consent is our priority, we do not move forward without their consent and understanding. They have an extensive vetting process to make sure this is the right choice for them, as well as their safety as a human companion.

What is a focus?

"Focus" is an item that your spirit companion has chosen to use as a connective item for our world to theirs.

They can add any magical layers they wish to this item, and we do not bind them to this object. It is wholly theirs to do with as they will, and we only guide them on how to create this bridge if needed.

We want this piece to be a place for them to connect to you, and if our energy is in the way it can hamper that connection.

Some spirits will use these items as a place for wards or other protective aspects, but it is up to them how they claim it. We believe the most authentic connection is the one between you and your spirit, and our job is to vet them for safety. If a spirit cannot be trusted to create their own binding free of our magic, they do not pass our vetting.

What if my focus breaks?

Don't panic! Just email us at contact@eveningstarspirits.com, or open a ticket on our Discord, and we can assist you from there. The items chosen are usually not replaceable, but we can help guide them to create a new focus as needed.

Please let us know if the quality of the items are not holding up over time. We want to be able to adjust our offered items if something is of lower quality. Some focuses are chosen on a case by case basis but knowing where to avoid purchasing from in the future can assist other clients.

We add silver cleaning cloths to our boxes for items that may need to be cleaned occasionally. If your silver is starting to tarnish, try one of these cloths.

How does the visit and matching process work?

To get a visit with one of our conjures in Conjures, email us at contact@eveningstarspirits.com or join our Discord and request a visit. More information about our visit process can be found at Visitation Agreement. Discord is the best way to get a hold of the conjurers.

Will the spirits visit randomly?

The spirits in vetting will not be visiting before, or during, the adoption process without the consent of the conjurer, and the client. We take the boundaries of our clients very seriously.

The spirits who are in vetting with our shop are made aware that to visit without consent of all parties involved is not tolerated.

Scheduled visits on the other hand are a big part of how we determine compatibility between human and spirit companion before finalizing an application, and are highly encouraged.

Those are not their real names. We give them use names just for the public listing and as an option for their companion to use publically to help protect the spirits' identity, and energy. Their real names, which will directly connect to their energy, will only be given to the companion.

The spirits sit with us and chose a use name for their listing. They choose their name based on sound and whatever meaning they wish to convey. Like most of the listing, the name can be a way they call their companion.

Are those their real names? Is that safe?

When will you notify us if we are chosen?

We will notify the chosen companions as soon as we are able. The application process is not immediate, and it can take a few days for us to go through and for the spirits to decide. We work on their time limit. We will do our best to keep everyone updated on where we are in the choosing process.

Once they have chosen, we will notify those who applied whether they were picked. We handle this privately. Our clients' privacy is our top priority. It is up to the individual if they wish to disclose that they were chosen.

An invoice will be sent to their chosen companion, and once paid, we will send the spirits' portfolio which will have all the information we gathered during vetting as well as the package with all of their items and their focus. Once the portfolio is sent, the spirit can go home permanently and our job is done.

They didn't choose me, what now?

While it can be incredibly disheartening to not be chosen by a spirit that you really clicked with, please understand they are making the best choices for them, as well as their matched companion. Don't get discouraged, we work with our cultures extensively and have others in vetting that may match you, and your family, even better than you expected. Keep your eyes peeled as your match may come through later in the process. Our conjures come to us when they feel it's time to reach their bond, so please be assured the spirit for you will come when it's time.

Please do not make anyone feel bad about being matched. We want to encourage each other and celebrate connections being made.

How do I care for my new companion?

All the spirits we conjure are able to care for themselves. What this means is there is no care needed for your companion other than just time spent together and offerings given at your discretion. Offerings are not necessary to maintain a working relationship with your companion, although they are considered polite and can help to deepen your bond with your new companion.

They have their own lives and will leave to tend to those lives as they need. If they are gone for a while, they may have gotten busy with something needing their attention. Just light a candle calling to them or hold their focus asking them to visit and wait a few days to see if they pop by.

How do we bond?

We suggest taking a look at their favorite activities in their portfolio as well as looking up their favored offerings. Some things you can do for bonding are:

• Tarot with the intention of getting to know them.

• Take them to explore our world.

• Crafting spells together.

• Engaging them in your daily life.

• Asking them to comment and advise you on your daily life.

• Ask them to teach you something.

Anything can be a chance to bond, we suggest you spend time with them as the quickest and most efficient way to get to know them. Happy bonding!

My companion and I are having trouble communicating.

This can sometimes happen due to lulls, or, just on the journey of learning to work with spirits. Please don't worry that your companion will leave, or even be mad at you for having very normal struggles. They chose you for the long term; not just while it's easy.

We have many resources on communication and connection. If you are struggling, check there first to see if that can help you have a breakthrough. Our Discord community is also always willing to lend a hand talking through any blocks.

We do not offer mediumship or communication assistance, but if the issue is extensive please open a ticket, and we can discuss how to help.

Some check lists to go through to help open communication:

Have you tried cleansing and grounding?
Have you given it some time to see if you just needed rest? Or are in a lull?
Are you blocking out of fear or doubt? Sit with the fear and try to work on the fear itself. Your hearing will open up once the fear is worked out.
Is your companion busy at the moment and unable to answer? Grab their focus and ask them to visit and wait a few days to see if you hear back from them.
Ask for a clear sign of their presence. It might just be a pathwork block that will take a second to work through.
Is that companion stepping back to let another work for a bit? This is ok. They will sometimes work with what's best for you, even if it means they need to step back from the forefront for a bit.

My companion and I want to go separate ways.

While we never want this to come to pass, we felt it was important to answer.

If you find that you and the spirit you met through Evening Star Spirits are not happy in any way, please contact a conjurer, and we will gladly reach out to the spirit to determine what happens next. We will never say no to a spirit coming back into vetting, to be re-homed, if that is what they wish to do.
